Our Mission
Paisley's Place provides sanctuary to elderly and disabled draft mules rescued from slaughter, offering specialized rehabilitation, pain management, and empathetic care. This enables the equines to spend their remaining years in tranquility, surrounded by natural surroundings and receiving quality hay. Approximately 25,000 American equines are annually exported to Mexico and Canada for slaughter, deemed no longer wanted. Enacting the Safe Act is critical to halting this inhumane treatment.

Our Story
Molly's lifelong passion for animal welfare has led her to dedicate the past 16 years to rehabilitating dogs with behavioral or medical challenges, earning her organization the name 'The Unadoptables.' Her experience with disaster response during Hurricane Harvey sparked a special affinity for donkeys. Upon returning home, Molly intervened in the fate of Wyatt, a gray donkey destined for slaughter and simultaneously rescued an elderly draft mule, Paisley, who required extensive rehabilitation. This encounter revealed the dire need for equine advocacy and inspired the establishment of Paisley's Place, a sanctuary committed to providing refuge and raising awareness for equines in distress. As the world's sole designated draft mule sanctuary, Paisley's Place aspires to expand its capacity to support more equines in need.
